Entry Deadline for VR NOW Awards Extended Until 10 October / Jury Members Appointed
The entry deadline for the international competition for the VR NOW Awards held during the VR NOW CON has now been extended. Creative artists from around the world can submit their works in five new, revised categories in Virtual Reality, Mixed Reality, Augmented Reality and 360° video at www.vrnowcon.io up until Tuesday, 10 October. The presentation of the VR NOW Awards is the first award ceremony in Germany, which is dedicated exclusively to Virtual Reality projects. The award show is being held on 15 November during the international English-language conference VR NOW Con & Awards (15 and 16 November) in Potsdam’s Schinkelhalle. The event is funded by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg.
An expert jury consisting of Nicole Laux (Schenker Technologies), Jim Rüggeberg (2016's winner, Illusion Walk), Carl White (VRBB), Sara-Lisa Vogl (VR BASE), Kimo Quaintance (IQ Gemini), Rangeen Horami (Film University Potsdam), Verena Nagel (Berliner Festspiele), Ina Göring (Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg) and Csongor Baranyai (btk University) will select three nominated projects per category. A second jury will decide on the winners and select the winner of the VR NOW Grand Prize.

VR NOW Grand Prize
The best project of the year, based on overall quality and innovation.
VR Tech Award
The VR Technology Award seeks to recognize the technically most advanced projects, tools, services, hardware and techniques.
VR Industry Award
The VR Industry Award highlights handy and innovative virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality and 360° video business-to-business applications and solutions.
VR Entertainment Award
The VR Entertainment Award acknowledges the most outstanding and fun experience – including interactive, storydriven or experimental formats.
VR Impact Award
With the VR Impact Award we support projects aimed at making a difference – through journalism, artistic expression or by social or non-profit organizations.
Save the date: the nominated projects will already be announced during a press event on Tuesday, 14 November in Berlin.
The conference addresses the very latest impulses and trends in the Virtual Reality industry, including Augmented Reality (AR), Mixed Reality (MR) and 360° Video. Numerous speakers from around the world will be presenting new business models and sustainable prospects for the successful deployment and the various possibilities of Virtual Reality. Early Bird runs until 15 October.
