A GOOGLE x SEMI PERMANENT VR COLLABORATION

Earlier in the year, Australian-based creative and design platform Semi Permanent hedged their bets on Virtual Reality as the future of their industry.

Putting their money where their mouth is, Semi Permanent partnered with Google VR, artists James Jean, Kelvin Ho, Luke Lucas, Sharni Spencer and production companies Will O Rourke, Virtual Guest and more to create ‘Collaboration.’

“In the very beginning, Sharni created the bones for a horse character that evolved from the movements she made. Then along the way her movements became these nests of activity and I would go in and tease out images and new ideas – branches would evolve and erupt from these nests that Sharni created. It all evolved very naturally.”

The experience challenges four acclaimed figures in their field to come together and create unified pieces of art, while still demonstrating their individual signature skills using Google’s Tilt Brush.
