Jorjin Reveals J-Reality, the World’s First Android Mixed Reality Smart Glasses

Jorjin Technologies, provider of modular processing, IMU, sensing, and wireless connectivity solutions is partnering with InfinityAR (www.infinityar.com), the company behind the world’s most advanced augmented reality development engine, and Lumus, the leading developer of augmented reality transparent wearable displays, to announce its newest product, J-Reality MR smart glasses. Through this partnership, Jorjin, InfinityAR, and Lumus are providing a tangible mixed reality experience for system integrators, developers, and other strategic partners.

J-Reality is an all-in-one smart glasses solution that provides a superior enhanced reality experience by seamlessly blending holograms and the ability to interact within the world of mixed reality. Jorjin’s J-Reality smart glasses use a proprietary state of the art positional tracking and scene understanding technology. Additionally, the glasses offer other features such as:

  • Front facing high resolution camera with built-in microphones and speakers
  • Unique industrial design – “over the eyes” and “up on the head” positions
  • Hand gesture control for mixed reality interaction
  • Stand-alone Android untethered product. No connection to a phone or PC is required.

J-Reality’s positional tracking and scene understanding technology is powered by InfinityAR’s Inside-Out Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) solution for mixed reality headsets. The company’s solution consists of a mobile low power, low computation SLAM architecture which makes the MR headsets both light and affordable.

Lumus provides the underlying optical technology in Jorjin’s new smart glasses, empowering the J-Reality to deliver a bright, immersive and daylight-readable AR experience within a small form factor. The Lumus Optical engine combines the patented Light-Guide Optical Element (LOE) – a reflective waveguide – together with a micro display pod, to create the virtual image of a transparent, full-color projection over the wearer’s surroundings. Lumus technology enables J-Reality to offer an immersive 40-degree field of view in smart glasses that are compact, comfortable, and stylish.

“We are excited to be partnering with InfinityAR, and Lumus, two of the top leaders in mixed and augmented reality in the world at this moment,” says Tom Liang, President of Jorjin Technologies. “Together, through this partnership, we are bringing Augmented Reality into the fingertips of many different fields.”

“Jorjin has been working on smart glasses since 2013, powering many of the leaders in the mixed reality space, including Epson, Vuzix and Lenovo,” said Motti Kushnir, CEO of InfinityAR. “We are excited to be selected by Jorjin to develop their next MR platform and support them in their journey to provide best MR glasses.”

Lumus CEO Ari Grobman says that the optical technology company is “very pleased to work in partnership with Jorjin and InfinityAR to bring an exciting new product like the J-Reality smart glasses to the consumer market. Consumer demand for AR-enabled eyeglasses is growing more rapidly than projected by many leading companies in this industry. Lumus is proud to play a vital role in introducing innovative AR glasses that seamlessly blend digital content with the physical world in a way never before seen.”

At CES Asia 2017, Jorjin will showcase live demonstration of J-Reality and the disruptive potential of augmented reality combined with see-through display glasses at Jorjin / Top Smart booth N2 2052 and InfinityAR will showcase at booth N5 5042.
