Today Kevin Bramhill announced the launch of his brand new Kickstarter for Nemesis VR – a VR shooter game inspired by classic arcade games, such as Asteroids. This first-person VR game is set to be released on HTC Vive, and later releases will follow for Oculus Rift and PlayStation VR.
Nemesis answers the question of what asteroids would look like in a VR 3D World. This new first-person VR game allows players to pilot a ship in outer space while shooting at asteroids and alien spaceships. Watch as they crumble and explode in front of you in this flashy, brilliantly-immersive world. Witness space from an Astronaut’s perspective as you explore through space while fending off enemies and obstacles in your way.
Kevin Bramhill aims to achieve an initial goal of £7,000 on Kickstarter to support the development of Nemesis VR on Oculus Rift. Stretch goals of £27,000 and £42,000 have been set and should these be attained, there is a possibility for the game to be ported for PlayStation VR. In addition, funds from the stretch goals will go toward further development of the game, including modeling, animations, sound effects, extra in-game content, and greater languages availability, to further enhance the player’s experience.
Backers can pledge for a range of exclusive rewards, including an early access copy of the game, artwork for a Nemesis t-shirt, and even the chance to have your name appear in the game credits. If the stretch goals are reached, backers will be awarded with a copy of the game on PlayStation VR or Oculus Rift.
Nemesis developer, Fungun Ltd, based in Brighton, was founded by video game industry veteran; Kevin Bramhill. Nemesis is the studio’s first ever release, and the brainchild of Kevin Bramhill, who has a background in developing games and working on simulators. His goal is “to put the emphasis back on gameplay, something which we feel is missing in many of today’s bigger releases.”
