LUCI and Blur Limit Partner to Deliver New Unscripted Series, “Hollywood 360”

VR & AR creative group Blur Limit and entertainment experience company LUCI have partnered to deliver their first unscripted series, “Hollywood 360,” which will premiere on the number one video streaming platform in China on iQiyi later in 2018.

Hollywood 360 is only the first of many high-quality original productions we plan to jointly produce in a hopefully long and prosperous relationship with Blur Limit,” said Josh Littlefield, vice president of global sales and marketing for LUCI. “We saw the immense potential in immersive content that tells powerful narratives and believe that Blur Limit will be capable of delivering content that really highlights the power of our headset.”

The show is well-positioned to support iQiyi VR and help promote Netflix content on the platform. The first-of-its-kind VR show takes an immersive look into the life of Hollywood including premieres, award shows and celebrity hangouts. Production begins at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, covering the opening night premieres of Blindspotting, starring Daveed Diggs (Hamilton, Black-ish), Janina Gavankar (True Blood, Star Wars: Battlefront II) and Netflix’s Private Life, starring Kathryn Hahn (Bad Moms, Step Brothers) and Molly Shannon (Enlightened, SNL), as well as Robert Redford’sopening remarks.

Blur Limit was formed by the international team of Azel James, Rob Cosnahan, John Trozak and Chip Li. As the creator of China’s number one entertainment show “This Week in Hollywood,” James is also known for his work on NBA Newsand interview show Fanstang Sport and is responsible for bringing the Golden Globes, Emmys and American Music Awards live to China for the first time. Rob Cosnahan directed Psycho Hillbilly Cabin Massacre and John Trozak is a technology commercialization expert in AR / VR and writer and producer on Audience Network’s “LOUDERMILK,” created by Pete Farrely, which stars Ron Livingston. Chip Li, the creator of LinkedIn Hire for top brands, was awarded China’s best VR creator in advertisement.

In addition to its premiere on iQiyi, LUCI has announced that the series will be available on its LUCI immers immersion-on-demand (IOD) device upon release, which was unveiled at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. While specific release dates and information about other Blur Limit original series weren’t disclosed, “Hollywood 360″ will be streaming on iQiyi and LUCI immersion-on-demand devices later in 2018.
