Making Of “The Greatest Showman” 360 VR Experience
The studios continue to raise the bar for producing engaging BTS featurettes for blockbuster films. Now big players such as Fox, Disney and Warner Bros are venturing into the use of VR to craft a more immersive look behind the scenes of beloved films.
20th Century Fox’s ultimate behind-the-scenes VR experience for musical film The Greatest Showman, “Come Alive: Rehearsal to Screen”, was built by Pasadena, CA-based creative studio SunnyBoy Entertainment and launched on Life VR Jan. 9. ‘The Making Of The Greatest Showman 360″ — a new video just released on Samsung VR — chronicles the production of the “Come Alive: Rehearsal to Screen” VR experience: https://samsungvr.com/view/JMH

The 360 making-of video captures the creators’ journey crafting a VR experience, which places viewers in an action-packed, songful spectacle alongside Hugh Jackman, who plays the ringmaster P.T. Barnum. It leads viewers onto the rehearsal stage where Jackman and the cast, including Zac Efron, Zendaya and Michelle Williams, put the final touches on the film’s show-stopping number “Come Alive.”
