Shuhei Yoshida Bringing Silent Hill to Project Morpheus?
Shuhei Yoshida, the president of Sony Computer Entertainment World Studios told OPM UK ( Official Playstation Magazine UK ) about his interest on seeing the classic horror game title “P.T. Silent Hills” on Sony Project Morpheus's platform.
Shuhei Yoshida said “Well, we always say to developers, ‘Don't try to port your game—you need to approach it from the ground up for VR.' That said, I'd personally like to see a game like P.T. working with Morpheus…something really, really scary!”
In case some of you don't know what Silent Hill is, it is a classic horror game known for its scary graphic and audio ( hi-fi screaming, scratching, breaking, crying sound and etc.. ). Developed by the legendary Konami Digital Entertainment, was debuted in 1999.
It is one of the most popular horror game in history. The newest in the Silent Hill series is P.T. Which was directed by Guillermo del Toro and featured actor Norman Reedus in the game as the main character and voice provider. P.T. has sold over one million copies. You can find out more here.
We must say Shuhiei Yoshida's interest is same as ours, since we are big fans of the notorious Silent Hill series. Every time when we play, we'd scream like there is no tomorrow! However, according to Junkie Monkeys, the original developer of P.T. Silent Hill, Hideo Kojima just left Konami and joined Naughty Dog. Hence, we will wait for further updates from Sony and Konami.
Sony Project Morpheus recently announced its headset will be released in the first half of 2016. Hopefully, a compatible version of the high anticipated P.T. Silent Hill will ready just in time for Sony's headset debut. Just imagine how scary and horrifying it would be to play Silent Hill in a fully immersive virtual environment with hi-fi surround audio!
