VoyeuR Software App for HoloLens

There is a new start-up on the virtual and augmented reality scene that is looking to make natural 3D an inherent part of your experience from the minute you strap on that headset.

VoyeuR founder and creator, Corey Janssens, knew what his contribution to this new tech frontier would be when he first tried the devices and realized that most of the content, unless specifically “built” in 3D, was still flat and 2D. This was particularly disappointing when it came to watching streaming media.

“There is a need for content on this new hardware or it will fail. Current content creation is exciting and innovative, but expensive and time-consuming. The industry needs impressive content NOW.”

“The next update will incorporate near real-time capability, and opens up licensing for streaming,” Janssens reports. The company is also preparing the release of VoyeuR on the Oculus Store for use with the Oculus Rift, currently, as well as pursuing licensing of their technology to content providers.

“Among many other opportunities, this technology gives us an exciting new way to experience old content on new devices. I don’t know about you, but if I want to watch 2d content, I will watch my TV.”

Three months later, VoyeuR is releasing its technical preview on the Microsoft Store, available for free download on the HoloLens. This initial phase of VoyeuR is a 2d to 3d projection converter that can convert any 2d image or video into 3d for viewing on any AR/VR device, or it will enhance content that is already 3D. VoyeuR uses a patent-pending process that purports natural 3D depth, full automation, and reduction in eye strain and viewer discomfort.
