THE VR INDUSTRY HAS SPOKEN! VIRTUAL REALITY PROFESSIONALS AROUND THE WORLD PROVIDE INSIGHTS FROM THE FRONTLINE

Over 500 VR Experts Take Part in Industry Survey to Update on How Their Business is Faring as VR Goes Mainstream”

VR Intelligence, organisers of the VRX event series in London and San Francisco, have released results of an industry survey conducted with over 500 members of their global network of virtual reality professionals.

The survey was designed to give a snapshot of the industry’s views, opinions, hopes and fears of the industry’s progress, along with insights as to how they’re approaching business as VR goes mainstream.

The results are available for free, compiling the views of those pioneering the industry; from the VR tech community, content creators and developers, as well as companies starting to integrate VR into their work, in enterprise, education, healthcare and more.

Some of the key insights include:

  • How the industry is faring in comparison to its projections; where the majority are reporting growth, but a quarter are behind expectation
  • Areas in which companies are spending their money this year, where marketing and product development are taking priority
  • Where people are finding challenges, from lack of content and pricing, to the hurdles content creators feel need addressing
  • Where enterprise customers are seeing the benefit, and their intentions to invest

The survey is available to download for free here: https://goo.gl/4cKsFU

The insights have been generated ahead of VRX Europe 2017, the annual meeting of senior-level VR industry business leaders in London on May 11-12. At VRX Europe, these topics and many others will be discussed by senior figures from Sony, HTC Vive, Unity, Framestore, Oculus, Unit9, Samsung, Audi, Google, CCP Games, Microsoft and many others.

Richard Goddard, Director at VR Intelligence, said, “We have a year-round dialogue with the people leading the way in VR, giving us in-depth insights to present both online and at our prestigious events. This survey went straight out to those living and breathing VR every day, to hear exactly how things are really moving and which areas are the key areas the industry needs to focus on.”
