VRLA Brings Mixed Reality Easter Egg Hunt To Los Angeles April 14-15th

World’s Largest VR & AR Expo Returns to the LA Convention Center With the Latest Immersive Games, Films and More!”

Now in its third year, VRLA returns to the Los Angeles Convention Center on April 14 and 15. This year’s expo will feature the first of its kind mixed reality Easter egg hunt, presented by VRLA and AfterNow, in partnership with Microsoft HoloLens. The experience built by AfterNow and Flarb, will let visitors hunt and collect virtual eggs, viewable through a HoloLens, hidden throughout a whimsical indoor park space. VRLA will feature hundreds of VR & AR demos, educational sessions, experimental work and presentations; registration is currently open, with passes available starting at $30.

 

Anyone curious about virtual or augmented reality can come to VRLA to experience the latest VR/AR games, films, and experiences. There will also be a full slate of panels and talks for creative professionals. Keynote speakers include “Rick & Morty” co-creator Justin Roiland, and Unity CEO John Riccitiello; exhibitors and sponsors include Google, Oculus, HTC, Samsung, Microsoft, NVIDIA, HP, Unity, Star VR, Epic Games, and many more.

 

The exhibit floor will feature industry-leading hardware, exclusive content reveals, and bleeding-edge prototype technology that can only be seen at VRLA. The expo hall will include an active “Indie Zone” with space dedicated to small teams producing new immersive entertainment and technology. The expo will also offer an advanced academic programming block offered in conjunction with IEEE VR, covering topics ranging from virtual humans and avatars, to locomotion and navigation in virtual environments. The “Girls Make VR” workshop returns to this year’s expo, offering teenage girls the opportunity to learn and create their own applications with the Unity game engine.
