Astral Domine – A New VR Shooting Game for the HTC Vive from Spectral Illusions
Spectral Illusions, makers of VR experiences Cyberphobia and The Séance, announce the release of Astral Domine, a new fully interactive Virtual Reality Experience for the HTC Vive on May 2, 2016.
After crash landing on a mysterious planet, you must explore the ruins of an ancient alien kingdom to retrieve the energy sphere that can restore power to your spaceship. Astral Domine is a feature length, atmospheric and immersive exploration and puzzle game. The player interacts with the environment by shooting light balls with the controllers, and is able to move freely around the expansive world in their quest to retrieve the energy sphere. Astral Domine was developed using the Unreal 4 engine and requires an HTC Vive headset and controllers to play.
“I wanted to create an experience that felt epic and let the player explore a large world at their own pace,” says Director/Developer Rob Ostir. “We’ve been lifelong fans of interactive entertainment and have included a number of homages to classic video games. The inspiration for this experience came from a long list of influences, from Pink Floyd, to arcade game side art, to Piranesi, to Disneyland.”
Kerry McCarn-Ostir, Executive Producer, says, “It is really exciting to create a completely immersive, interactive environment like the one in Astral Domine. We’re building on the passive experiences we created in Cyberphobia and The Séance, and giving ourselves the opportunity to really explore the possibilities of Virtual Reality and the Vive.”
Astral Domine will be released on Steam: http://store.steampowered.com//app/458990?beta=0
