Hyper-Reality Company JUMP Announces Seed Capital Raise
JUMP officially kicked off the development of its technology in December 2019 with a major seed round contribution. On the heels of its recent announcement about securing key advisors and a major extreme sports team, the JUMP team announced they secured $1 million in seed money from investor Bryan Wright. JUMP is a location-based, hyper-reality entertainment company that is the brainchild of James Jensen, co-founder of virtual reality company The VOID and CEO of JUMP.
“I believe in surrounding myself with greatness. When I met the founders of JUMP I had multiple options to choose from in terms of where my investment funds could go. Some of the options offered stable returns but didn’t stir my soul; some of the options were exciting but too volatile for returns,” Wright said. “JUMP had the characteristics I was looking for in a company: founders that I resonated with, an excitement for what JUMP could do for the world, a strong and stable return on my hard-earned funds and something I enjoy talking to my friends about (and that they all seem to enjoy talking to me about).”
“The investment from Brian Wright represents a huge vote of confidence in our vision for JUMP,” Jensen said. “We are at the precipice of taking off with our investment partners and our mind-blowing, proprietary technology.”
The JUMP hyper-reality experience will include a “flight suit” and helmet. The simulator is a mix of a suspension and wind system that allows people to experience the extreme thrill of jumping off cliffs and skyscrapers without the danger. The first JUMP location will likely be at a major entertainment facility.
“With JUMP, we are leveling up to an entirely new category of entertainment with hyper reality,” Jensen said. “Hyper reality means we are providing an experience that includes several sensory elements, including the feeling of wind and heat, smell (like the scent of pine trees), and the very real physical sensation of jumping and ultimately flying.”
The JUMP team also recently released a documentary video showing how the inception of the company came about:
According to The Hollywood Reporter, location-based entertainment will be a $1 billion market by the end of 2020. By the end of 2023, it will grow to be a $12 billion market.
