Oculus Go – Oculus has been at the forefront developing VR ecosystem, and promises to alter the landscape when their consumer standalone version headset is released. Unlike the other previous headsets, the new Oculus standalone headset will not require a smartphone or computer. It will have a built-in display and integrated audio headphones.
According to Facebook founder Mr. Zuckerberg,
“it’s the most accessible VR headset yet;” it starts at $199 and it’s going to ship early next year. It appears that the mobile headset will be a similar experience to the Gear VR, allowing users to spin around but not move freely.
This new standalone mobile headset gives Oculus a low-end mobile offering that can assist the company to expand beyond the Gear VR. Expect shipment in early 2018.
