Spinnable Launches First 360 Immersive Social Media Platform
Spinnable, an immersive technology company, today announced the launch of its cross-platform 360 social sharing app. Spinnable empowers anyone to create, consume, and share their own content in full 360 degrees – capturing what’s going on around them, not just what’s right in front of them.
The free app is hardware agnostic and compatible with all 360 video capture and playback devices. In fact, no additional hardware is required, as Spinnable allows you to take a panorama picture with the phone’s native camera, and – with its proprietary technology – stitches it, on-board and on-the-fly, into a spherical image, upon upload. Once in the app, the media on your device can be moved by swiping with your finger, or panning, using the gyroscope in your phone. In addition, Spinnable offers cardboard mode so you can put your phone in a Google Cardboard or similar device, and step into the scene.

Spinnable is rapidly attracting the attention of musicians, athletes and celebrities to its app for its ability to provide fans with a more intimate, immersive look into their lives, from backstage, on the court, and in the studio, to red carpet events, and those beloved everyday selfies. Together, with those relationships, Spinnable is creating content that will be accessed exclusively through the app. The company is also launching live-streaming events in 360 degrees directly through the app.

Spinnable, now available on iOS, will soon also be available on Android, AppleTV, and Samsung GearVR. The company is also in development with other 3rd-party head-mounted device (HMD) manufacturers, who see Spinnable as the killer app for VR headsets.
