Trivantis Unveils Releases of its eLearning and VR Authoring Software
Trivantis®, the creators of the widely-used Lectora® software product, and innovators in the virtual reality eLearning space, has finished Q4 with new releases of Lectora Online, Lectora Inspire and Publisher (desktop version 18), and CenarioVR authoring products – all within a swift span of 38 days. The updates made to each product line are significant and they dramatically improve workflow sequences, usability, productivity, and the overall learning experience.
Some of the most noticeable changes to these three product lines include new native CenarioVR apps for the popular Oculus Go and Samsung Gear VR headsets, and usability upgrades for Lectora that include a modernized “Getting Started” dashboard, a new contemporary template library, a gallery of new, customizable stock buttons, and 28 accessibility improvements to sustain Lectora’s leadership in WCAG 2.0 AA compliance. Lectora Inspire users can now also enjoy the latest screen capture and recording features included in TechSmith’s Camtasia 2018 and Snagit 2019.
“So far, feedback from Lectora clients has been overwhelmingly positive. They love the changes, especially the new templates that include the latest from FasterCourse,” said Joe Wieloch, Chief Architect.
To improve productivity, Lectora also released several time saving features. They include new cmi5 support in addition to SCORM and xAPI. Furthermore, authors can now publish directly to Saba, HealthStream, Docebo, and any PENS-enabled LMS.
For the CenarioVR release, several changes also streamline the authoring process. Specifically, users can now duplicate a scene (including objects and timed actions) and even copy a full scenario with dashboard cards.
“Immersive learning used to seem complicated and overwhelming. Now that CenarioVR offers so many workflow improvements, the process has become extremely convenient,” said John Blackmon, Chief Technology Officer.
With the latest CenarioVR release, the learning experience has particularly improved with the new Samsung Gear VR and Oculus Go applications. Both apps offer native support for the controller, the ability to download scenarios to the device, and robust reporting for VR analytics. And, for extra headset flexibility, CenarioVR now supports Firefox and Firefox Reality WebVR, which can be used with the Oculus Rift, Lenovo Daydream, HTC Vive Focus, and most other head-mounted devices. Plus, learners can now experience deeper immersion with the introduction of live score updates, the pan to object feature, and enhanced animations experiences on VR headsets.
“We are excited about how these major releases improved our products. I believe these updates set a new standard in eLearning,” said Laura Silver, Chief Operating Officer.
