VR Sex Game SinVR APP Hacked and Exposed User’s Info
SinVR is a hardcore and kinky VR porn game platform, where users can purchase and download different fetish-themed VR porn game to enjoy with their VR headsets.
Digital Interruption, a London-based cybersecurity company has posted on its Twitter account regarding their finding on SinVR’s security issue and user info leak on January 8th.

Apparently, the hackers was able to gained access due to the lack of authentication on the endpoint.
According to the followed up tweets the company made, Digital Interruption made several attempts to inform SinVR team about the leak since December, but received no response from the VR porn site.
On January 14, Digital Interruption published below tweet, announcing and confirming that SinVR’s security loophole has been fixed and patched.

Moving forward, we are confident in our ability to stop similar attacks and will keep using a professional security service to audit our system.” Spokesperson from SinVR
SinVR also acknowledge Digital Interruption’s contact attempts before the company made it public in Alphr’s article.
“Digital Interruption gave us ample warning before posting their finding and we fixed the issue as soon as it was revealed to us,” a SinVR representative told Alphr. “We are in contact with them and they confirmed that the outlined security hole was closed. Altogether, it has been a tremendous learning experience, which will serve to enhance our security and we are glad that it was conducted ethically.”
Digital Interruption also published a blog post title “Working towards automated App Security” to discuss the issue on January 15.
Porn websites are often being targeted by hackers. In 2015, there was Ashley Madison security leak. In 2016, there was Brazzers user account leak, which exposed 800,000 user’s details.
VR porn as a new rising and growing industry seems to be the new target of hackers. This potential issues should not be taken lightly by VR porn game and film studios, especially during this crucial period of expansion, and slow but gradual mainstream adoption.
