Aniwaa Launches VR and AR Comparison Engine

The tech media startup is growing, making it easier for everybody to find the best AR or VR headset

Aniwaa is proud to announce its new VR and AR comparison engine is now live and available. Following a recent round of seed funding, the company has built the most complete database yet devoted to virtual, augmented and mixed reality head-mounted displays (HMDs). To mark this milestone and the startup’s first foray beyond 3D printing, Aniwaa is also unveiling a major update to its website and branding.

Pierre-Antoine Arrighi, Aniwaa’s co-founder and technical advisor, has worked with immersive technologies throughout his academic and professional career. “There are many overlaps between VR/AR and 3D printing so it was a logical choice for us”, he comments. “New hardware is being announced almost every week now, which is great, but it’s also creating a very fragmented space. The number of headsets more than doubled since we started discussing this project at the beginning of the year and this is where we can make a difference.”

Just like 3D printing a few years ago, information about virtual and augmented reality HMDs is scattered across the internet, with few user-friendly tools to guide consumers. Aniwaa’s new comparison engine is addressing this problem and was put together with the same diligence that made the company a staple in the 3D printing industry.

A new VR and AR comparison engine

The VR and AR comparison engine already indexes over 100 virtual and augmented reality devices (and counting) and includes filters to help narrow down the selection. Users can easily compare up to 3 products at a time and get a comprehensive overview of the products that interest them. To help users navigate this complex, high-potential tech, the content team has also released a series of special best-ofs and guides for their users.

I’m really proud of what we’ve achieved,” shares Martin Lansard, Aniwaa’s CEO and co-founder. “We applied the methods and processes we developed with 3D printing to this new category of products. Emerging technologies are everywhere and we are now ready to cover even more verticals and make it easier for our users to embrace the future.”

A revamped website and brand design

This fourth version of the site includes changes to the overall look-and-feel, as well as improvements to the user experience, aimed at making information easier to access, read and compare. The new logo and brand design are a reflection of Aniwaa’s growing expertise and ambitions. Looking ahead, Martin Lansard comments: “We are not the same company we were when we launched 5 years ago. Our content and marketing teams have grown and the company is thinking bigger. Our new AR and VR comparison engine is just the first step.”
