Birdly Flying Simulator @ Museum Of The Moving Image

The Museum of the Moving Image in New York is currently having an exhibition called Sensory Stories: An Exhibition of New Narrative Experiences, from April 18 – June 7.

Visitors can experience how does it feels like flying like a bird in the sky, using Birdly, the flying simulator that debuted at Sundance Film Festival 2015.

It simulates the bird’s flying field of view while the users lay flat on Birdly’s platform with both hands strapped on the arm rest which is supposed to simulate bird’s wings. Users will be wearing an Oculus headset to experience the immersive flying trip!

When I was little, I always had dreams of me flying high above in the sky, and I’d be very disappointed when waking up realizing it was just a dream, I could still remember the disappointment vividly…

We haven’t had a chance to test Birdly, hopefully we can test it in the near future, we are looking forward to add it to our VR equipment collection!
