EXPERIENCED HOLLYWOOD DEVELOPMENT AND PRODUCTION EXECUTIVE TO SPEARHEAD LOS ANGELES OFFICE OF LEADING CINEMATIC VIRTUAL REALITY STUDIO

Felix & Paul Studios, the leading creator of cinematic virtual reality experiences, announced today the appointment of Ryan Horrigan as the company’s Chief Content Officer. Horrigan will oversee content development, strategy and partnerships for the pioneering live action virtual reality studio’s new Los Angeles office. The announcement ushers in a new period of growth within Hollywood for Felix & Paul Studios, creator of acclaimed VR experiences including “LeBron James Striving for Greatness,” “Inside Impact: East Africa” with President Bill Clinton, “Jurassic World,” and the three part “Nomads” series.

Ryan Horrigan has significant experience developing and overseeing the production of feature films with industry leading screenwriters, directors, actors and producers. He most recently served as vice president at New Regency Productions, the studio behind this year’s Academy Award winning films The Revenant and The Big Short.

Horrigan’s role will expand Felix & Paul Studios’ slate to include original cinematic VR experiences and series in both fiction and non-fiction spaces for all VR platforms. The studio has previously collaborated on creating VR experiences with LeBron James, President Bill Clinton, 20th Century Fox, Cirque du Soleil, Universal and more, and is the only VR studio with a non-exclusive overall content deal with Facebook/Oculus. Horrigan is an exciting addition to the rapidly growing studio, which controls the full stack of VR creation technology in house, including their own proprietary VR camera, audio capture and processing, software and post-production process.

“Ryan is an accomplished studio executive with a track record working on groundbreaking films, making him the perfect fit for this important role,” said Stéphane Rituit, co-founder, president and executive producer at Felix & Paul Studios. “He is a great addition to our team and will be a key part of the next phase of our evolution as we bring cinematic virtual reality to a mass consumer audience in 2016 and beyond.”

During his tenure at New Regency, Horrigan sourced and oversaw dozens of the studio’s top development projects with industry luminaries including Warren Beatty, Brad Pitt, Mark Wahlberg and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Horrigan worked on the productions of 12 Years A Slave and Noah and the forthcoming films Assassin’s Creed and A Cure for Wellness. He began his entertainment industry career in the Motion Picture Literary department at CAA and at Paramount Pictures during the production of The Fighter, Shutter Island, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Star Trek and Cloverfield.

“Felix & Paul Studios is hands-down the preeminent live action VR studio in the world, leading the way in both artistic and technological innovation,” said Ryan Horrigan, Felix & Paul Studios’ new Chief Creative Officer. “I’m honored to work with Félix, Paul, Stéphane, Sebastian and the rest of this highly-talented team to continue building an amazing slate of original, cinematic virtual reality experiences that will set the industry standard for years to come.”

About Felix & Paul Studios

Felix & Paul Studios is dedicated to storytelling through the medium of live-action virtual reality (VR). In 2013, the Montreal-based company developed a proprietary 3D 360º camera system with accompanying post-production software and process – which set the industry standard for the highest-quality VR filmmaking.

The studio combines this technological innovation with a unique, pioneering and in-depth approach to the new art of virtual reality storytelling – creating emotive cinematic experiences around content that is either original (“Nomads” and “Strangers”) or in collaboration with existing intellectual properties (“Jurassic World”, Cirque du Soleil and “Wild”).

Offering viewers a fully immersive sense of presence, time and space yet to be achieved on any other media platform, Felix & Paul Studios invites audiences into intimate, visceral and emotive cinematic virtual reality experiences, organically immersing the viewer in experientially-driven storylines. Led by directors and visionaries Félix Lajeunesse and Paul Raphaël, the studio launched in 2014 as a three-person venture and has since grown into a fully operating team of over thirty.
