Flexpoint Sensor Systems, Inc. Expands Global Medical and VR Wearables Market Presence

Flexpoint Sensor Systems, Inc. (FLXT) is pleased to announce it has recently received production Purchase Orders from award-winning Turkey-based client/partner – Turtela Technology Solutions. In 2015 and 2016, Turtela, producer of smart, technologic and innovative solutions, set out with Flexpoint to develop and commercialize their innovative glove-based technologies.

 

After gaining early, award winning recognition at the METU Yeni Fikirler Yeni Isler in 2013, Turtela incorporated itself in early 2014. The company went on to receive additional recognition such as First Prize at IGID II Innovation Awards, the TET ProjectMarket3 Award and the Girisimci Isadamlari Vakfi Project/Idea Award.

 

The Scientific And Technological Research Council Of Turkey (TÜBİTAK-TEYDEP) supports the turSOS project of Turtela. Additionally Inventram supports Turtela for patenting, technology commercialization and information & communication technologies. Inventram, a subsidiary of Turkey’s largest conglomerate, Koç Holding, is a technology investment company and incorporated in year 2010.

 

Turtela currently produces turSOS and turGLOVE which incorporate the Bend Sensor®. Turtela turSOS (Sound of Sign) is a technological glove designed for the hearing impaired that converts Turkish Sign Language into speech in realtime. TurGLOVE has been developed for a broader range of markets such as virtual reality/augmented reality, gaming, Industrial (human-machine interface), entertainment (music and film), military and other application use cases.

After these initial production orders, Flexpoint anticipates order volume attributable to Turtela to ramp up and increase significantly in 2017 and 2018 as they develop their brands in their various target markets.
