Framestore VR Studio Expands to Montréal Office – New Offering Marks Proliferation of Creative Tech Exploration

Since it’s inception in 2014, Framestore’s VR Studio has become the most awarded in the world in the category. Some of the standout VR projects include the 19x Cannes Lion winner ‘Field Trip to Mars’, 2014’s Game of Thrones ‘Ascend The Wall’ and the 2016 Cannes Lion Grand Prix in Mobile, GE’s ‘Nature of Industry’ as part of the #NYTVR launch.

“Everyone is looking to VR right now,” says Amy Small, Global Head of VR. “We’re working unilaterally with so many industries that it only made sense to expand our global offering and explore in-depth creative and technological solutions for our partners at every office.”

Working across offices, platforms and departments has created a successful synergy for Framestore. They recently led the way with multi-platform storytelling for Warner Bros’ Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them which coupled extraordinary visual effects for film with an interactive mobile VR experience.

Montréal is being touted as one of the fastest growing and most prominent technological and creative hubs in the world and is home to an impressive talent pool of artists and creators. The VR Studio’s presence in Montréal will draw on this talent and culture to continue Framestore’s legacy in groundbreaking immersive experiences.

Since opening its doors four years ago, Framestore’s Montréal office has produced work for films like Paddington, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Arrival. Current projects include Beauty and The Beast, Blade Runner 2049 and Alien Covenant.

Framestore’s VR Studio in Montréal will start its operations in the Spring 2017 and is actively looking to fill multiple roles to start this new adventure. All the details are posted on the career portal at
