Introducing VR Connects London Conference, 16th-17th January 2017

New VR/AR/MR industry event from Steel Media, the maker of renowned Pocket Gamer Connects conference series

Steel Media, publisher of the PG Connects events, Pocket Gamer, PG.biz, The Virtual Report, and the Global VR Challenge, is proud to announce its first VR Connects conference as the company broadens its events remit in order to serve the VR/AR/MR industry as it has the mobile games sector since 2005.

Taking place on 16th-17th January 2017 at London City’s premier venue, The Brewery, the new event is a sister conference to the established Pocket Gamer Connects London. While ticket holders to one conference are granted access to the other, VR Connects very much remains a separate event with regards to coverage, focus, and content.

VR Connects will bring together over 500 delegates from across the VR/AR/MR industry (with a focus on hardware manufacturers, entertainment, game, education and experiential software creators, investors, platform holders, and media). The event will combine a lively expo space with 2 days of focused conference tracks spread over 4 tracks and covering the key questions facing the industry (global trends, technical and design issues & knowhow, future technologies & developments, and business-related challenges & opportunities).

The event will aim to reach the heart of the VR industry across all formats and all app categories. Curated by the teams responsible for the renowned PG Connects conferences and in association with an advisory board comprised of some of the finest names in this sector as well as a partnership with Virtual Umbrella, the conference will represent an essential event for anyone wanting to meet, hear, and learn from the leading figures from every corner of the VR/AR/MR world.

In addition, unrivalled networking opportunities are guaranteed courtesy of a dedicated and extensive meeting system available to all delegates, as well as an array of fringe events throughout the two days, such as the VR Indie Pitch competition, bespoke VR expo area, SpeedMatch (curated developer/publisher meetings), and the unmissable aftershow Global Connects Party.

“We’re particularly delighted to launch VR Connects in London, as we did the original PG Connects conference series back in 2014,” said Chris James, Managing Director of Steel Media. “We’ve been monitoring the VR scene with interest for some time and feel this is the right time to step in and support this burgeoning industry with a deserved and dedicated b2b event. It’s a new step for us, but in doing so our aim is to connect the VR/AR/MR sector as comprehensively and as successfully as we’ve managed within the mobile games industry for the past 11 years.”

Over 7,500 delegates have attended our Pocket Gamer Connects conferences and loved the unique access to the biggest names in the sector, the brilliant networking opportunities, and sharply honed content on show. With VR Connects London 2017 we aim to deliver the very same opportunity for every member of the burgeoning VR development community.
