Nomadic Launches to Bring Immersive, Tactile VR Adventures to Communities Everywhere
“Film, Gaming, Motion Tracking and Retail Innovation Veterans Introduce New Model and Medium for Accessible, Exciting VR Experiences.”
Immersive entertainment company Nomadic revealed its groundbreaking approach to bring tactile virtual reality adventures to communities everywhere. Led by a team of entertainment and retail industry visionaries, Nomadic’s new model for location-based entertainment provides theatres, malls, resorts, arcades and other locales a turn-key technology solution to transform existing commercial spaces into VR attractions.
Nomadic partners with retail venues to provide the equipment, infrastructure, technology and content to build tactile, location-based VR experiences within their locales. Utilizing a modular set of components, the physical structure and layout of Nomadic installations are designed to be easily reconfigured, changed and updated with new content, without requiring extensive construction or specialized expertise.
Within the constraints of existing retail spaces, Nomadic’s VR adventures are designed to blur the line between ‘virtual’ and ‘reality’. As participants maneuver through story-driven gamified experiences, they interact with physical props and encounter environmental effects that make the narrative come to life.
Founded by film, gaming, and visual effects industry pioneers, the Nomadic team has worked on film franchises including Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Pirates of the Caribbean and The Matrix. The Nomadic team averages more than 25 years of relevant experience in game design, storytelling, location-based entertainment, and technology development.
“We’re creating a new medium of entertainment,” said Nomadic CEO, Doug Griffin. “Our goal is simple – for everyone to walk away saying ‘wow!'”
“We’ve developed a platform that adds monetary value though increased foot traffic and repeat engagement,” said Kalon Gutierrez, Head of Growth for Nomadic. “Nomadic’s modular VR solution gives content and location partners around the globe the opportunity to provide local communities with an unparalleled entertainment experience.”
Nomadic will host its first public showing of their turn-key technology solution for tactile VR at the CinemaCon trade show in Las Vegas, March 28th – 30th, 2017 (Booth #2317A, Augustus Ballroom, Caesar’s Palace Casino.) For more information, visit www.nomadicvr.net.
