NYC Marathon in 360 Degree/VR Video

With 50,000+ finishers from around the globe and millions of spectators, yesterday’s New York City marathon left many wishing they could experience what it’s like to run across the five boroughs to that iconic Central Park finish line.

CyberLink, the multimedia company behind the binge watching Guinness World Record, teamed up with 10-time marathon runner Alex Christison, and Sports Illustrated to make that wish a reality and allow viewers to immerse themselves in a 360 VR experience of yesterday’s NYC marathon.

This 360 video, made with CyberLink’s PowerDirector 15, simulates the first-person experience of running the NYC Marathon with the cheering, motivating crowds, and spirit of camaraderie. The full version of the video currently lives on the LifeVR app, but will be available online tomorrow.
