POST KICKSTARTER, OSSIC LAUNCHES PRE-ORDERS FOR OSSIC X HEADPHONES
Coming off the most successful Kickstarter campaign for a VR product to date, OSSIC opens up pre-orders for its OSSIC X headphones
OSSIC, the developer of the OSSIC X headphones for VR, video games and music, is now making its headphones available to pre-order for $299 USD. Customers can begin pre-ordering today at www.ossic.com. At the same time, OSSIC has also kicked off a referral program in which backers and those who pre-order can receive a $20 discount on their orders by referring a friend.
OSSIC is made up of a team that combined, possesses over fifty years of experience developing some of the top-selling headphones and speakers on the market. That team just concluded a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign, which saw more than 10,000 backers pledge over $2.7m in total, making it the single most successful Kickstarter campaign for a virtual reality (VR) product to date. The success of the Kickstarter campaign will enable the OSSIC headphones to support more platforms, including mobile.

The OSSIC X headphones are the only headphones that auto-calibrate to the listener’s anatomy (also known as their HRTF), meaning that the headphones can accurately recreate sound for an individual just as they would hear it in real life. With the addition of built-in head tracking, the headphones can also keep that sound fixed at that point in space. This allows for an incredibly immersive and consistent VR, video game or music listening experience.
Partnership with Abbey Road Studios
OSSIC recently joined Abbey Road Red, a music and technology incubation program within the world-famous Abbey Road Studios — the world?s first recording studio and the same studio responsible for many of the biggest audio innovations, including stereo and surround sound. The incubation program gives OSSIC access to some of the best audio engineers in the world, who will be providing feedback and guidance on the OSSIC X headphones as they develop.
