The Virtual Reality Company unveils “Raising a Rukus” a ground-breaking animated VR adventure series – the first storytelling franchise to be released in the VR industry, and the first of its kind for families. Brought to life by a team of award winning Hollywood veterans, “Raising a Rukus” invites viewers to go on a series of magical adventures with a brother and sister led by their mischievous pet dog, Rukus.
Two-time Academy Award-winning Director and Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of VRC, Robert Stromberg and VRC are producing the original series.

“VRC’s vision for ‘Raising a Rukus’ was to create an experience that allows viewers to step into this world and connect emotionally with these lovable and endearing characters and their stories in a way that only VR can make possible,” said Stromberg. “VRC is working to bring thrilling VR worlds to life through stories that will be memorable, thought provoking and entertaining to people around the world.”

“Raising a Rukus” features a number of innovations that can only be made possible with VR, such as the branching narratives designed into the story for each installment that allows viewers to follow each character through the adventure and experience the story in new and different ways each time they view it. With stories built around universal themes that entertain and educate, audiences will connect with these special characters in Rukus’ world in a way that will keep them coming back time after time.

“VRC has brought together the best artists, storytellers, filmmakers and technicians who are working to create impactful and immersive VR experiences that will bring people face-to-face with imagination,” said Guy Primus, co-founder and CEO of VRC. “‘Raising a Rukus’ is one of many milestone VR experiences we will announce and release in 2017. This is the premium VR experience that people have been waiting for, and we know they will be thrilled.”

VRC will release the “Raising a Rukus” adventure series on major VR platforms, mobile, premium HMDs, and theatrically. Starting this spring, the first installment of “Raising a Rukus” will be set to roll out to cinemas in the US, Canada and Europe through distribution partners, which will be announced in the coming weeks. VRC’s productions will be distributed in China via its partnership with Hengxin Mobile Business Company, Ltd., a Beijing-based mobile services and technology provider, a Series A investor in VRC.
