Virtual Reality Software Innovator, Vizor, Raises $2.3 Million and Announces Launch of Private Beta at F8 Conference

Facebook Developer Conference: F8, April 19, 2017 — Off the heels of a successful showing at the Facebook Developer Conference, Vizor, a pioneering virtual reality (VR) software company, today announced it has raised $2.3 million in a seed funding round led by The Venture Reality Fund (The VR Fund) and co-led by Inventure. The company also announced the private beta launch of its VR creation and hosting platform, which allows users to effortlessly produce 360-degree tours, stories and WebVR experiences by simply dragging and dropping media components.

Focused on advancing the future of virtual reality content on the web, Vizor will utilize the funds to enhance the development and functionality of its platform, which helps lower the barrier to entry for both VR content creation and consumption. “Immersive web is the next iteration of the internet, and our goal is to make it as seamless as possible for businesses and storytellers to fill the world with new, inspiring and beautiful virtual reality content,” said Kaarlo Kananen, founder and CEO, Vizor. “Our investors understand the value in evolving our platform and the limitless creative possibilities it can unlock.”

Equipped with easy-to-use tools such as instant preview, drag-and-drop features, text editor with web font support and more, Vizor allows creative teams across all industries to build and publish 360-degree tours, immersive stories, virtual visits and WebVR experiences onto a website or Facebook feed – all with no coding required.

“Vizor’s platform is truly innovative and can be applied to any industry, representing tremendous market opportunity on a global scale,” said Marco DeMiroz, co-founder and general partner, The VR Fund. “By combining virtual reality with the power and accessibility of the web, Vizor is redefining the future of how WebVR content can be created and viewed.”

Joining The VR Fund and Inventure, Boost VC, Lifeline Ventures and Sisu Game Ventures also contributed to Vizor’s seed round. In addition, Marco DeMiroz of The VR Fund and Ekaterina Gianelli of Inventure will be joining the company’s Board of Directors, lending their expertise and experience to the Vizor team.
