Interest for VR Adult Content Continues to Grow in 2017
According to Pornhub, VR adult content is among the highest rising categories on the platform. Pornhub launched its virtual reality category with merely 30 videos back in March 2016, and now the site has more than 2600 videos.
Popularity of VR porn rises by 250% in just one year, according to Pornhub’s latest site stats, VR content is gaining a daily average of 500,000 views per day, and VR viewers tend to watch more videos, averaging 11 videos per website visit, comparing to 9 videos per visit by regular users. However, the average time spent on the site is roughly the same as 2D content viewers. The stats is from Pornhub alone, and it really makes us wonder for early adopters and mainstream consumers, if the popularity of VR adult content has already surpassed the popularity and interest towards VR game and other sectors in the VR ecosystem?
It is up to the VR headset owners to decide what contents to watch or play on their device, and perhaps, when it comes to VR game, there are some amazing VR games, however, at least for now, it is still missing VR titles that has the same influence as some of the legendary 2D games such as Marios or Street Fighters series, that have successfully gained worldwide popularity. Or maybe it is also because that, VR porn can be viewed from nearly all VR devices, all you need is a Google Cardboard and a smartphone.
